Objectives of the IAIM Certified Infant Massage Instructor Training

Join us for an enriching journey into the world of infant massage, led by experienced trainer Kirsty Hawthorn. Our comprehensive program is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to empower families and enhance the wellbeing of infants and their caregivers through the art of massage.
By the end of this training, you will be prepared to:
1. Empower Families: Understand the profound impact of your work, focusing on empowering families through the nurturing power of infant massage.
2. Identify Benefits: Clearly identify and articulate the benefits of infant massage for both the infant and the parent or caregiver.
3. Master Massage Techniques: Learn to perform the complete massage sequence on a doll, including stroke variations suitable for older children.
4. Teach Relaxation Techniques: Describe and teach effective relaxation techniques to parents and caregivers.
5. Address Special Needs: Gain insights into working with babies with special needs and how to adapt massage techniques accordingly.
6. Understand Infant Cues: Acquire a solid understanding of infant cues, including how to identify, interpret, and respond to them effectively.
7. Enhance Family Interactions: Observe and analyse parent-infainting, discussing the experiences objectively to improve teaching strategies.
8. Navigate Infant Crying: Explore the reasons behind infant crying and its relevance to your role as an instructor.
9. Promote Bonding: Learn about the significance of bonding and how it influences the practice of infant massage.
10. Develop Communication Skills: Enhance your ability to communicate effectively with both infants and their families.
11. Conduct Classes: Acquire the necessary skills to run parent-baby classes confidently.
12. Implement Programmes: Understand how to successfully implement an infant massage program in your community or workplace, including aspects of marketing.
13. Fulfill Certification Requirements: Complete all certification requirements within 12 months following the course.
14. Engage with the I.A.I.M: Gain a thorough understanding of the International Association of Infant Massage’s mission, structure, and your role as a Certified Infant Massage Instructor (C.I.M.I).
15. Network and Support: Learn how to contribute to and draw support from your local I.A.I.M chapter effectively.
Training Details and Cost
• Duration: 4 days
• Cost: €810 (Includes tuition, course materials, healthy teas and snacks, exam fee, certification, and student membership with Baby Massage Ireland until qualification).
• Additional Costs: Professional demonstration doll available for an additional €75.
